The Doris Bardon Community Cultural Center
Art enthusiasts in Gainesville will have a new place to call home this fall. The Doris Bardon Community Cultural Center is a project of the Gainesville Fine Arts Association and the Arts Association of Alachua County. Our camera got a sneak peak this morning. The center is located on 716 North Main Street in Gainesville. The gallery they are calling "The Doris" will give visitors the opportunity to try a variety of classes including clay, print press, and painting. Director of "The Doris" Chuck Sapp says "It's kind of a community in of itself in that when you're here at the doris, you have this feeling of being with people and around people that really appreciate and like the arts." The grand opening for "The Doris" will be Saturday, October 22nd.
