They've read the books, watched the shows, and played with the toys...but today was the fuzzy, fur-filled moment more than 100 local Sesame Street fans have been waiting for.
Elmo and Super Grover made their appearance at the downtown Gainesville library today.
They were greeted with hugs, high-fives, and dozens of requests for pictures.
This is its first time with the Sesame Street duo...and library officials say these events bring the characters to life for fans.
The event was part of a promotional tour for Sesame Street Live.
Elmo and Super Grover will take center stage tonight at 7 at the O'Connell Center for their "Elmo's Super Heroes" show.
