Happy Friday everyone! All sorts of things to do this weekend....so lets get right to it.
The quaint community of McIntosh is hosting it's 1890's Festival this weekend. The people of McIntosh have been running the festival since 1974 as a way of raising money to fund community projects. You can expect lots of food, arts and crafts, antiques, and music. The festival runs Saturday from eight until five. Just head to downtown McIntosh on highway 441 just south of Micanopy. Farther south in Marion County, you can enjoy all kinds of art at the Ocala Arts Festival this weekend. You'll be able to look at the work of over 200 artists, enjoy live entertainment and have a bite to eat. Just up the road in Gainesville butterflies will be in the air. The Florida Museum of Natural History is hosting its Butterflyfest this weekend. If you've never been there you're in for a treat. Butterflyfest runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm and will feature butterfly releases, presentations and workshops, and other fun activities. Also in Gainesville, the Thomas Center is hosting the Heart of Florida Asian Festival. The festival is billed as a celebration of Asian cultural arts, featuring acrobats, dance, music, martial arts....and Asian food. Saturday is the day for the annual Noche de Gala. It runs from 7 pm to midnight and benefits the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation....whose goal is to fundraise for a state of the art children's hospital in Gainesville.
