Annual 'Boo at the Zoo' Draws Hundreds
Published November 1st, 2011
Hundreds of kids and their parents showed up for the 17th annual Boo at the Zoo.
Families were asked to bring a canned good to enter the event. The canned food will be donated to food pantries.
The zoo was divided into four themed sections: Toy Story, Super Heroes, Alien Attack, and Pirates.
More than 80 zoology students at Santa Fe College designed and constructed the themed sets and dressed up in character.
The zoo itself was kept open until 5:00, so visitors could feed the animals Halloween treats.
A panel of judges chose the Pirate section as the best themed area.
