A number of Ocala city streets will be closed well in advance of the 5:30 p.m. start of the Christmas Parade Saturday.
Early street closings are necessary to allow for pre-parade staging and other logistical operations.
Motorists are encouraged to use NE 14th Street, SE 17th Street and SE 31st Street as alternate east-west routes and SE /NE 36th Avenue and Pine Avenue (US 441) as alternate north and south routes.

Saturday’s major street closings are scheduled as follows:
- State Road 40 will be closed from SE Watula Avenue to SE 25th Avenue at 3:00 p.m.

- NE 8th Avenue from SR 40 to NE 14th Street at 3:00 p.m.

- NE 25th Avenue from NE 3rd Street to Fort King Street at 3:00 p.m.

- SE 25th Avenue from Fort King Street to SE 14th Street at 10:30 a.m.

- Westbound lane of Fort King from SE 25th Avenue to SE 28th Avenue at 3:30 p.m.

- NE Tuscawilla Avenue from SR 40 to NE 3rd Street at 3:00 p.m.

- NE Sanchez Avenue from SR 40 to NE 9th Street at 3:00 p.m.
