Planting it Forward
Published December 15th, 2011
A group of Marion County students were hard at work Thursday morning-- not in the classroom, but out in the yard.
It was all to make their school's courtyard a little nicer. North Marion Middle School in Citra received more than $9,000 worth of mulch, plants and gardening supplies from Home Depot. A parent and Depot employee had told them of the school's need. There was so much material they had to deliver it in a flat bed truck. Between the students and the volunteers, it took the team just a couple of hours to transform the courtyard.
