The city of Hawthorne is facing an increase in their monthly bill, and some had concerns this was sudden.

The increase comes after a study by Florida Rural Water that revealed the city had a shortfall in revenue...because of the rates they were charging for sewage and water.

The state mandated they increase these rates.

The increase went from about eleven dollars to almost twenty.
