Tent City Cats Up For Adoption
Tent City in Gainesville has been inhabited by those without a home for years, but some of its other residents are in need of a home, too. Elizabeth Howard and Home Van Pet Care Project have been working to feed and take care of a colony of cats in Tent City. She first began to care for the feline family four years ago, and has taken them all to the vet to be neutered and spayed.
But she and her volunteers can no longer take care of the cats and ensure their safety, so she's trying to get good homes for the family of cats.
"The special thing about these cats is that they've always been fed and watered and loved," she says. "They know what it is to have a person love them. And they meet us on the path, like the little cat did today and they come out when we come to feed and I think they'll be happy to have a home."
If you're interested in adopting one of the cats, you can contact Elizabeth by phone at 352-473-9423 or email at holisticliz@hotmail.com
