New Land for New Fire Station
Published February 8th, 2012
It was the last piece of the puzzle towards building a new fire station in Ocala. Council members approved the purchase of a parcel of land directly behind Fire Station #1 during Tuesday night's City Council meeting. The new station will replace the one serving as the department's headquarters which opened in 1967. The city spent about $116,000 on the empty parcel.
