Weekend Planner
Happy Friday everyone! If you're looking to add to your family, enjoy sports, or reminisce about Jake and Elwood....we've got plenty for you to consider this weekend.
Jake and Elwood? That would be the Blues Brothers, of course. The Official Blues Brothers Review comes to Gainesville tonight. It's a live concert that brings back the comedy and hit songs from the original 1980 film....in addition to albums that Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi released. The Blues Brothers Review, and their ten piece rhythm and blues band take to the stage tonight at 7:30 at the Phillips Center on the UF campus. Website
It's going to be an active weekend at the O'Connell Center as well. Tonight make sure you wear your pink as the Lady Gator Gymnasts are having their annual "Link To Pink" meet versus the Tigers of LSU. They're raising awareness about breast cancer prevention and treatment at tonight's event. The teams take to the floor this evening at 7. Website. Saturday, the men's basketball team hits the Odome, continuing their march towards the NCAA tournament. The Gators take on the Tennessee Vols starting at 4 Saturday afternoon. Website
If you'd like to add a four legged member to your family, our friends with Alachua County Animal Services can help you out. They're having an adoptathon this Saturday. Adoption fees are 33 dollars for cats and 45 dollars for dogs. Other pet rescue groups are participating in the event. It runs Saturday from 10 in the morning until 2 at Subaru of Gainesville, 4025 North Main Street. Website
