New City Position Set to Stimulate Job Growth
Published March 15th, 2012
The "Help Wanted" sign is about to be set out for a new position with the city of Gainesville -- one city leaders hope will bring more jobs to town.
Commissioners unanimously decided to fill the job of "Economic Development Officer."
The position was created in the 1990s, but was consolidated into the city manager's role in 2007.
Commissioners say the position will be dedicated to stimulating economic growth in the community.
The salary for that position could be between $92 and $100 thousand.
