TV20's Yaremi Farinas reports there are conflicting accounts about what happened.
Most of the neighbors I spoke to did not want to talk on camera because they don't like being on camera, but they did tell me they saw some girls running around the neighborhood about 9:30 last night, yelling that they had been stabbed.
"It was self defense how are you going to beat six people."
Sherry Richardson says it was six against one, but her 31-year-old daughter Lekesha Grant was arrested for allegedly stabbing three teens at the phoenix apartments. Richardson was not at the scene at the time of the stabbing. She says neighbors told her that, her daughter went across the street to get a cigarette and on her way back home, she was jumped.
"Six girls were waiting on her and they jumped on her. When they jumped on her they had her down and she came up swinging with a knife stabbing at them and a couple of the girls got stabbed and cut."
The police report indicates that grant confronted the girls because her boyfriend was beaten up earlier that day by someone in the neighborhood. The report also states that during the fight Grant pulled out a paring knife from her bra and stabbed the victims.
"I was told by witnesses that the fight started over there where you see that car, and it ended up over here where you see all these blood stains."
When Gainesville police arrived at the scene, the victims injuries appeared to be life threatening.
Twenty-year-old Jadelyn Marshall was stabbed in the chest and back. A 16-year-old girl was cut in the neck and a 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the arm and head.
"Due to the level of violence that was used by the suspect in this case, we are just grateful that all of the victims were able to walk away with their life."
All the girls are reported to be in stable condition.
Two of the girls had emergency surgery and one is believed to have permanent nerve damage.
As for Grant she has numerous felonies on her record and is now being charged with three counts of felony attempted murder and remains in Alachua County jail on $150,000 bond.
