Storm in Alachua Uproots Trees
Published March 26th, 2012
The sun is out, but the damage is still visible in Alachua from the thunderstorm this weekend.
Uprooted trees, flipped trampolines, and missing walls make up the damage left from the winds of the weekend.
A tree fell right near one resident, Melisha Brooks' house, but didn't fall on top of it.
She is thankful her home was saved.
"I just started crying when I saw it because I really didn't know what damage had been done to my house...but everybody was safe."
Brooks' power was still out when we spoke to her, and another neighbor was also waiting for their power to be turned on.
People from around the neighborhood were out today helping to clean up the mess.
