The college football season doesn't crank up for almost five months but you CAN get a taste of Gator football tomorrow. The Orange and Blue Debut is set for the Swamp Saturday. It's your chance to take a sneak peek at the 2012 Gator football team. The action is set to begin at 1 Saturday afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Website
Lots of Gator sports going on in town this weekend. The baseball team continues it's series with LSU tonight at 7, with the final game versus the Tigers at 4 Saturday afternoon at McKethan Stadium. Website The Lady Gator Softball team starts its three game series with Ole Miss tonight at 6, finishing with games at 2:30 Saturday and 1 pm Sunday. Website
If you love music, it's a great weekend for bluegrass! The Forest Capital Museum State Park near Perry is hosting the Florida State Bluegrass Festival this weekend. The last two days of the festival feature a number of award winning bluegrass artists. There'll also be a chili cookoff, arts and crafts and more food. The festival runs until 9 tonight and from 11 to 9 Saturday. Website Meanwhile, in Marion County, the Silver River State Park is hosting Bluegrass in the Park. The event features three bands for your enjoyment. It starts Saturday at 5 pm at the park east of Ocala. Website
In Live Oak, the Suwannee County Fair wraps up this weekend. The theme for the fair, now in its 97th year, is "Farmin', Family, Food and Fun". The fair runs until 1 am tonight, and from noon until midnight Saturday. Website
Finally...more outdoor fun. In Lake City, the third annual Alligator Lake Spring Festival is tomorrow. The purpose of the event is to emphasize the importance of the natural environment. There'll be nature walks, activities for the kids, and wild critters for the kids to check out. The event starts with bird walks at 8 in the morning, with most of the activities from 10 to 3 Saturday. Website
