Wildfires Around North Central Florida
Published April 9th, 2012
Florida Forestry is showing that there 18 active wildfires that are burning over 100 acres.
Some of the most notable ones are the Olive Fire in Putnam County and the County Line Fire at the Florida/Georgia line.
The County Line Fire was last updated to be burning over 11,000 acres in the Pinhook Swamp.
That fire, coupled with the other wildfires in North Central Florida, is sending smoke all the way to Alachua County.
Alachua County Fire Rescue says they predict it will be a tough year for fire services because of the dry conditions.
