Its an eleventh hour reprieve for scores of small post offices in North Central Florida.

The United States Postal Service this afternoon released a list of small post offices that are no longer going to be shut down.

But there is a catch, they will have to reduce their hours.

The Postal Service initially wanted to close thousands of small post offices around the country because of declining business and income.

But there's been a lot of pressure to keep these post offices open because they are often community centers in some small towns.

That includes at least 27 small post offices in our area.

Most of them are now open 8 hours a day, but many of these post offices will have their hours cut in half, and some even more than that.

The post offices will remain open unless the U.S.P.S finds a better community center to move it to.

Customers will still have access to the lobby and thier P.O boxes after hours.
