Chick-Fil-A Supporters and Critics Flood the Streets of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE- Hundreds of hungry activists took to the streets today, taking Chick-Fil-A’s motto of, "Eat More Chicken," to heart.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is calling it Chick-Fil- A Appreciation Day, but those who I spoke to this evening are calling it a celebration of freedom religion, sexuality, and expression.
Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy made comments in recent months surrounding the sanctity of marriage and many in Gainesville say he just answered honestly.
Live Oak resident Terry Fillyaw says, “I thought he answered it very eloquently and with class, and he gave an honest answer as we all have our own beliefs.”
And in Gainesville, supporters of those views weren’t unchallenged.
Cathy’s comments were compounded by the discovery that he donated millions to anti-gay marriage groups according to information reported by, "The Advocate."
Multiple groups in town showed up to protest what Cathy calls the biblical definition of family.
Vice President of the Gainesville National Organization of Women, Robbin Cochran says
“We’re here to excercise our first ammendment right in response to ChikFilA’s 1st amendment right to state their beliefs and their religion. We have a right to respond and we have a right to freedom from religion.”
Many drivers kept their conviction but had to turn the other direction to avoid standstill traffic backed up to I-75 along Archer Road during rush hour.
The restaurant’s corporate office states that their chains serve customers of all backgrounds.
Opponent’s of Chick-Fil-A have scheduled a same-sex kiss in Friday
