Charity Playhouse Will Have Everything 'Except Air Conditioning'
ALACHUA COUNTY - A home that measures 8-by-8-by-10 feet may be too small for the average family of four.
But builders are hoping it will be the perfect playhouse for your child.
"Project Playhouse" began Tuesday with a team of Home Depot and Habitat for Humanity volunteers building the playhouse.
Organizers say it's a way to raise money for Habitat for Humanity and bring the community together.
More than $1,200 in materials was donated by Home Depot, including lumber, paint, brackets and shingles.
Crew members say the home will have everything except air conditioning.
The project should be complete Wednesday.
It will be on display at the Home Depot in northwest Gainesville.
The playhouse will then be auctioned off at Habitat for Humanity's "Pave the Way" event on Friday, Sept. 14 from 7p.m. to 10p.m at Santa Fe College.
