Happy Friday everyone! There's usually no shortage of things to do on fall weekends around here....and this weekend is no exception...

It'll be busy on the Gulf coast this weekend as the 43rd annual Cedar Key Seafood Festival gets underway. The festival, one of Levy County's largest events, will feature plenty of seafood, of course....like clam fritters, oysters, fish....and a lot more. The event that celebrates the areas fishing heritage will also feature live music and over 250 exhibitors of arts and crafts. Check out the Seafood Festival Parade on Gulf Boulevard at 11 Saturday morning. The festival runs from 9 to 5 Saturday and Sunday.  Website

South of Gainesville, the quaint town of Micanopy will be hopping on Saturday. The 38th Annual Micanopy Fall Harvest Festival will be underway with thousands of visitors expected. The festival will feature live music and fun for the kids....in addition to the arts and crafts and antiques you would expect. Over 200 vendors from around the southeast will be there....with a portion of the proceeds from the event going to help local, non-profit organizations. The festival goes Saturday from 9 to 5 and on Sunday from 9 to 4 in downtown Micanopy.  Website

Newberry is holding its Fall Market Festival and Bar-B-Q cook off this weekend. The event will feature family friendly activities, entertainment and good food. I don't know that I've ever had bad barbeque! The Fall Market Festival runs from 9 to 4 Saturday and 9 to 3 Sunday along Seaboard Drive in downtown Newberry.  Website

Indoors tonight, the Dance Alive National Ballet is putting on it's production of "Phantom: A Tale of Obsession". The ballet features the Phantom, Christine and Raoul...characters you may remember from the movie or Broadway show "Phantom of the Opera". Show time is 7:30 this evening at the Phillips Center in Gainesville.  Website

Finally, the Alachua County Fair runs from tonight through next Saturday.  Website.  And, not that anyone will forget, the Gators face the Gamecocks in the Swamp at 3:30 Saturday.  Website
