NEWBERRY - With Election Day right around the corner, the biggest players in the Florida Republican party converged on north central Florida Thursday night.
Governor Rick Scott was the keynote speaker at Thursday's Blue Jeans & Black Tie BBQ fundraiser, held every year to benefit the local Republican party. He received a rockstar welcome, as he addressed a packed crowd.
With just days to go before the election, and polls showing the presidential race neck and neck, everyone seemed optimistic that Romney would be able to win Florida come next Tuesday.
Also seen in attendance Thursday night was state agriculture commissioner Adam Putnam, as well as Connie Mack, a candidate for the U.S. Senate.
