Ice Rink Opening Delayed
Published November 21st, 2012
The Palace ice skating rink, scheduled to come to the Bo Diddley Community Plaza Friday has been pushed back two weeks.
The rink is now expected to open on Friday, November 30th.
The department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs says the postponement is due to technical difficulties, and not because of safety problems.
The rink is coming from Baltimore and there were issues taking it apart to move.
Although the rink will not be open this weekend, the City of Gainesville announced the will be extending the rink an extra week until Sunday, January 13th.
