Tips For Black Friday Success
GAINESVILLE - People like Antron Hutchinson can’t wait till it’s Black Friday. “It’s probably going to be packed but I am going to make sure I am the first one at the door,” Hutchinson says. Neither can big retail stores, James Locke, the store manager for Gainesville's Toys “R” Us says, “Black Friday is an incredible day for us and obviously being a toy store we start out with Black Friday and then everyday is a party up until the 24th of December.”
After getting stuffed on Thanksgiving, the new holiday tradition is to stuff shopping carts with gift purchases on Black Friday. Though many avoid the day due to the crowds and long lines, Laura Butler. “I don’t like to go in and get bombarded because its dangerous cause some people just run over everybody and it’s not fair to the other people,” Butler says.
There are ways to make the experience more friendly. We’re talking FB, twitter, apps on your Smartphone or your iPad. For example here I have TGIBF, "Thank God It’s Black Friday" and it has a list of all your favorite stores you can click on one of them, check out the prices they’re running for on Black Friday.
I talked to Brad Wilson via Skype, he’s an online expert and founder of the website “Brad Deals” which has a “Black Friday” app. He says consumers can make the best out of this holiday through these new apps that let you multitask. Wilson says, “You can have the app be at Walmart and if you’re looking at the TV in walmart you can pull it up and say what’s the price of this same TV at Target or Best Buy literally hundreds of agencies times hundreds of stores. There’s definitely a lot of things that you that can really empower you as a consumer from an app standpoint.”
And if going out on Black Friday is not your thing, Wilson says there are some better deals going online from the comfort of your home. “In many cases if the online store doesn’t have a physical presence on your state, they are not collecting sales tax on that purchase. That can be quite a big save right out the top. There’s an enormous amount of online coupon codes that you have on the check out process online," Wilson says.
Wilson tells me to make sure you go to stores before hand and know where the items you want to buy on black Friday are located at. He says to plan and research and to go out in groups. Get family and friends to help you tackle your favorite stores this frday.
