Gainesville Ice Rink Cancelled

After several delays, the ice skating rink that was slated for Bo Diddley Plaza has been canceled.
The rink was scheduled to open the day after Thanksgiving and run through mid January.
After a series of speed bumps the company that owns the rink, Midwest displayed decided to call off their ice rink project.
The rink display is being broken down and the company is taking losses in potential profits.
The city will be using the plaza to host the Downtown Countdown New Years Eve concert to help ring in the New Year.
