Tacachale Tree Lighting Event
The holiday season celebrations kicked into high gear Tuesday night with the annual tree lighting ceremony at Tacachale.
Hundreds of people from all over the city enjoyed perfect weather to see the annual ceremony at the sprawling community for the developmentally disabled.
The Tacachale chorus and Duval Elementary School choir performed several holiday favorites... And of course, Santa Claus was there to hear Christmas wishes.
Center administrator Michael Mayfield says it makes some of them feel on top of the world doing this. They practice and look forward to this program every year.
The people who run Lloyd Clarke Sports presented a check for 28- hundred dollars to Tacachale.
The business sponsors a fundraising 10-K run every Thanksgiving morning. More than 700 people showed up for the run this year.
