Sherriff's deputies are searching for a man who robbed two women in Hawthorne Sunday night.

The incident happened outside of the CVS store in the Hitchcock's Shopping Plaza around 10:00 PM. 

The women were leaving the store, where they work, when the man approached them, showed a plastic gun and demanded their purses.

One of the women screamed and swung at the man.

He grabbed the other woman's purse and ran away.

The women were not injured.

The culprit is described as a black male between 5'5" and 6' and was wearing all black clothing and a white baseball cap over his dreadlocks.
