Each First Friday event features live music, raffles, a block party and a passport giving you specials at over 35 restaurants and other establishments. The event occurs the first Friday of the month. It goes until 10 tonight in downtown Gainesville. Website

There'll also be face painting, free snow cones AND free plants for the first 100 kids. The event goes from 2 to 6 Saturday at the gardens located at 4700 SW 58th Drive in Gainesville. By the way, guided tours of the gardens are given from 10am to noon the first Saturday of every month. Website
