Charlie Weis “surprised me”…

I had heard---“HE’s a grump”…

“uncooperative” --- “unavailable”…

BUT “There he was”---the NEW

offensive coordinator of the

Florida Gators…

Charlie SMILED---did it frequently...and big...

His SENSE OF HUMOR---“appealing”…

The Weis DIALOGUE on “love of family”---TENDER…

It’s “a good start”—Charlie… Keep it up…

I’m not sure if Weis will “be a Gator”

for EIGHT MONTHS or eight SEASONS…

CHARLIE may not know…

Here’s “what I DO know”…

Weis is an “offensive creator”…

He probably does NOT have the "mentality" of a

HEAD COACH---which cost him at Notre Dame…

But “the big dude from New Jersey

is a “wizard” at offensive football…

His "scheme" is “pro-style”---built around

a quarterback who is a “drop-back passer”…

Charlie’s offense will be “limited ONLY by

the athletes he has available”…

There’s no Tom Brady in Gainesville---so,

how potent might Charlie’s Gators be

“with---John Brantley?”---OR,

if No. 12 “fails to deliver”---a raw, teen-aged

talent like Jeff Driskel?…

Weis has THREE Super Bowl rings---TWO

“in the family vault” and “one in Charlie’s POCKET---

just in case some Gator prospect

“needs to be IMPRESSED”…

I “like” the new Gator coaching staff…

I did NOT know “if I’d LIKE

Charlie Weis”—but, so far, I do…

If his OFFENSE

produces---we’ll see “smiles all around”…

AND, just maybe---“another ring or two”…
