A year ago, Denver's
franchise was
graded “F” by
ESPN analysts on
Round One of
the NFL Draft…
Mel Kiper’s Gang
said, “Boo on
you, Broncos for
picking Tim Tebow”…
Now, it’s the
Minnesota Vikings who
get an “F”---due to
opting for FSU quarterback
Christian Ponder…
I say, “Wrong on Both--ESPN”…
I’m NOT suggesting Tebow
and Ponder were “A-pluses”---
but, PLEASE--no worse
than “C-minus”… Both kids
are “extremely smart”---
“great competitors”---
“exemplary human beings”…
“AMPLY talented”… In
3 or 4 years---ESPN might
owe “apologies” to
Tim ABD Christian…
… NFL Drafts are
always “intriguing”…
This time, the
Miami Hurricanes had
EIGHT players picked---
more than Florida and FSU “combined”---
but UM had a puny
7-and-5 record last season...
Randy Shannon was FIRED
as coach… Among the
three NFL franchises in
our state, Tampa Bay
did BEST---the Bucs are
building a formidable defense---
Ahmad Black now a part of that…
In all, 23 kids were drafted
from EIGHT different
Florida schools---all
but Bethune-Cookman…
Hurricanes had 8…
Gators 4…
FSU and Central Florida
3 apiece… BUT--you CANNOT
accurately grade this
draft until--- “at LEAST 2014”…
I’m Hubert Mizell, and
that’s what I think.
