Mizell Minute 10/31
Gator fans
are accustomed
to “excellence”…
Since the
early ‘90s,
they’ve asked--
* “Will we again
dominate the
SEC East?”…
* “Is Florida
a good bet
to be SEC
champion?”…
* “What about
our chances to
wind up No. 1?”…
OOOH, how the
“queries” have
changed in 2011…
Gator backers
now “growl”…
* “Is Will
Muschamp the
right guy to
be head coach?’’…
* Is Charlie Weis
worth 750-K
a season to run
the offense?”…
“Ugly October”
ended with a
rare loss
to Georgia---
so NOW,
the question
is---“Can these
Gators win
two more games---
becoming
BOWL ELIGIBLE?”…
---a “lower-
middle-class” goal…
Florida played
hard against
the Bulldogs---
but after
stacking a
17-3 lead, the
Gator offense
died… John
Brantley, working
on a sore ankle,
completed TWO of
his last 14 passes…
Florida was
INCAPABLE
of running
the football…
Georgia “tried
to choke”---special
teams were “inept”…
a lousy
punt gave
the Gators
one last chance
to STEAL the game
at the Bulldog 36…
Florida went
“nowhere”…
Gator receivers
are NOT getting
open…
Undersized Florida
defensive backs
get “torched”
by 6-foot-4
pass catchers….
Florida’s offensive line
is “third-rate”…
“Penalties” are
killers…
Will “this mess”
be “repaired”
by 2012? …
It had better be…
I’m Hubert Mizell,
and that’s what I think.
