Losing “JoePa” makes

me think of

Bobby Bowden—

No. 2 to Paterno

in career wins…

At Florida State,

Bowden stayed

“a bit too long”…

nonetheless…

I “loathed”

the way Bobby

was shoved out

of Tallahassee’s

“back door”…

Now…an even

deeper pain--

absorbing “the

climactic chapter”

of Paterno…

Seeing a lifetime

“overloaded with

GOOD”—being

smudged by

“ugly controversy”

at the end…

So, how will

“you and I”

remember Bobby

and JoePa?...

I met Paterno

in 1962—when he

was a Penn State

assistant coach…

I’ve known Bowden

since ‘76 when

he took over a

weak and financially

desperate FSU program…

My memories of

Bowden and Paterno

are “flushed with

positives”…

So HOW will

WE recollect

“the two of them?”...

I have decided—

“my emotions”

will focus on the

“best of times”…

the “wealth”

of their total

contributions to

Penn State and

Florida State…

So…THUMB’S UP….
