Mizell Minute 1/27
College football
“signing day”
is Wednesday…
It’s “tricky”—
trying to figure
if 17-year-old
high school phenoms
will mature into a
dazzling collegians…
Florida is recruiting
well---likely
among America’s
top five classes…
But the Gators are
NOT apt to match
big rivals Alabama
and Florida State…
No. 1 criteria
for all schools
is “filling needs”…
Florida is
ravenous
to sign its
first extraordinary
wide receiver since
Percy Harvin…
Another whopper
need is
offensive linemen—
three Gator
“commits” have the
size and apparent
talents to evolve into
solid producers…
I’m “still waiting”
for Florida—
alma mater of
Emmit Smith—
to snag its first
“big…quick…
STUD running back
in the 21st century…
I’m seeing
“more gifted”
tailbacks pledging
to Georgia--FSU
and Alabama…
Florida fans
are hungry
for “a shocker
pick”—maybe
“stealing” a
hot prospect from
one of its
big rivals at
the “11th-hour”…
But, the
“REAL results”
of signing day
will NOT be
evident until—
“at least 2014”…
I’m Hubert Mizell,
and that’s what I think.
