AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - Passengers on a JetBlue flight say the plane's captain was yelling about a bomb today as other crew members locked him out of the cockpit and passengers restrained him.

JetBlue says in a statement that the captain of the flight from New York to Las Vegas has a "medical situation," and that the pilot in command of the aircraft chose to land in Amarillo, Texas.

One passenger says a man in a JetBlue uniform walked from the cockpit to the back of the plane, and that he started to get disruptive when he was barred from getting back inside.

Another passenger told CNN that the man was shouting, "I need the code" and "I need to get in there." She says the pilot who was inside the cockpit urged passengers to restrain the man, and that some male passengers then did so, wrestling the captain to the ground.

JetBlue says an off-duty captain who happened to be a passenger on the flight went to the flight deck and took over the duties of the captain "once on the ground."

It was just two and a-half weeks ago that a flight attendant on an American Airlines plane that was about to take off from Dallas had to be restrained and then removed from the plane after a rant over the plane's P-A system that included references to terrorism.
