Police say a 19-year-old man attacked his ex-girlfriend and used an ax to kill her mother and her new boyfriend before killing himself.

Police in a suburb of Detroit say Brian White assaulted the girl and made her watch the murders.

Officers have no released the name of the girl.

Her injuries were not life threatening.
