Georgia Man Charged After 10 Dead Dogs Found in Home
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - A Savannah man has been arrested on felony charges after police say they found 10 dead dogs in his home and nine more alive but needing emergency treatment.
Savannah police did not say Thursday how long they suspect the animals had been abandoned, but said there was evidence the dogs had to feed on each other to survive.
Police arrested and jailed a man who rents the home, identified as 50-year-old Kirby Campbell. He was charged with 10 felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and a number of misdemeanor charges. It was not immediately known if Campbell had an attorney.
