A massive fire that destroyed a stable in Illinois has killed at least 15 horses.

It took firefighters from 20 departments to fight the fire on Wednesday night.

There are reports that at least three people ran through the stable trying to free the horses that were boarded inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
