Hollywood's elite were in Washington, DC Saturday Night for the Annual White House Correspondents Dinner hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. President Obama poked fun at himself and others, and noted how much things have changed since he took office.
"The Avengers" opens nationwide Friday, but Saturday night in New York City, it closed the Tribeca Film Festival. Special guests for this "superhero" movie were "real" heroes. Just blocks away from ground zero, police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics were the guests of honor. The Avengers already opened abroad this weekend garnering a smashing 178 million dollars.
At the box office, the comedy "Think Like a Man" was #1 domestically for the 2nd straight weekend with $18 million. Four movies were bunched up for the no. 2 spot: the animated comedy "The Pirates! Band of Misfits"; the romantic drama "The Lucky One"; the blockbuster "The Hunger Games"; and the romantic comedy "The Five-year Engagement" were all bunched the $11-million range.
