Space Capsule Returns To Earth
Published June 1st, 2012
Space X's Dragon space capsule has splashed down in the Pacific after a successful trip to the International Space Station. This historic mission was a turning point for NASA. The space agency has turned to a private company to take food and supplies to the space station, for the first time since ending the shuttle program. The Dragon capsule returned with approximately 1400 pounds of old equipment and scientific samples. Internet billionaire Elon Musk is the person behind Space X. NASA hopes to, eventually, use private companies to transport astronauts. The next supply trip is scheduled for September.
