TV fans everywhere were saddened to hear of the passing of Richard Dawson.
The wise-cracking, kissing host of "Family Feud" died Saturday at 79 from esophageal cancer.
Dawson first made his mark with American audiences on the 1960s Nazi POW camp sitcom "Hogan's Heroes".
But it was later, during his 10 years as game show host, that "Richard Dawson" became a household name.
Also passing away this weekend - actress Kathryn Joosten - best known for her nosey yet lovable character, Karen McCluskey, on "Desperate Housewives". Joosten - whose character died from cancer in the shows' recent final episode, was an advocate for lung cancer awareness and research.
She battled lung cancer for 11 years before succumbing to it Saturday, at her home in Los Angeles.
Former "Seinfeld" star Jason Alexander has apologized for joking during a tv talkshow that he considers cricket to be a "gay" sport.
Alexander made his remark Friday on CBS's Late Late Show.
In a 1-thousand word apology posted online, Alexander says his words were "hurtful" and he "should have known better."
And at the movie box office this weekend, "Snow White & The Huntsman" vanquished the competition, taking in 56-point-3 million dollars to take the number one spot in its opening week.
The action film, inspired by the fairytale, did better than studio estimates, attracting as many women as young men, unusual for an action genre film.
