Petty Officer First Class Nicholas Checque was killed during the successful rescue of a doctor in Afghanistan.

NATO Commanders believed the doctor was going to be harmed by his captors.

Officials say that Checque was a member of Seal Team 6, the group that took down Osam Bin Laden.

President Obama called Checque a selfless American hero.
