Joe Hoskins has lived in Ocklawaha for about two years. On mother's day, he got a new neighbor, one he's not thrilled about – a 150 acre brushfire.
While the cause of the fire in Ocklawaha is not known, fire officials don't think it looks suspicious.
The reason why you're more likely to see fog in the early morning and at night is because of dispersion...which works like a boiling pot of water...when the humidity goes up it acts like a lid, keeping the smoke on the ground.
During the day, the smoke rises high, and at night it settles close to the ground.
Firefighters want people to not call 9-1-1 unless they feel they are in danger-or see what they believe to be a new fire.
And while it did rain in the area, some residents are hoping for more.
