A Marion County Elementary School teacher faces charges for mishandling two children in his care.
Marion County school officials say they didn't see it coming.
John Morrison, 62, has been a Romeo Elementary School music teacher in Dunnellon since fall 2006.
School officials say he started as a substitute teacher and then eventually replaced a teacher.
On Friday, two female students came forward with accusations that Morrison didn't deny.
The victims, ages 7 and 8, told authorities Morrison had been inappropriately touching them during class – one incident going back as far as last Christmas.
Deputies say that on various occasions, the girls confided that Morrison would touch their legs, butts and chests during movies while the lights in the classroom were off and where they were out of the sight of other students.
Once Morrison was brought in by deputies for questioning, he admitted to the incidents the victims had named and also said that he felt the incidents were inappropriate.
Morrison is being held on a $27,000 bond.
