One North Central Florida neighborhood is in an uproar over a sign that's posted along the street. They say it's a sign of hate.
And the people who posted the sign belong to a church.
TV20's Jamel Lanee tells us what the church is saying and what residents want done.
Residents in the area of the Mile Run neighborhood say it has always been a peaceful place until yesterday, when they started to take notice of a sign they say is hateful.

I'm a practicing believer, I trust there is a God, and Mohamed (Peace be upon him) was his messenger. I try to fast, pray, donate, and read the Quran to try to understand how to be a better person. When I raise my voice, I don't only have to defend myself from the radical preachers in Islam. I have to defend myself against any who attempt to persecute me because of my faith. I believe my faith is beautiful, and I believe in an Afterlife. To me, this life compared to the afterlife is a grain of sand compared to a desert.

There are so many priests and preachers I know they don't know even Jesus and became a pastor and preacher and saying all these rubish that Allah and our God are the same. For those ideots I tell them please stop all these false preaching. Read the Bible and know who real Jesus is. Then go to the preaching field. Always remember Christianity is not a religion. Your comment gives me the impression that your mentality and that of the Taliban is not so different - you are both proponents of intolerance and brutally judge the people who you think are following Satan. As a Muslim, I don't think I have the authority to judge another human - I leave that to God. When I say I believe there is only one Creator, I mean it. The birth of Jesus (peace be upon him) was a miracle. His mother Mary was a virgin. But I refuse to believe that Jesus was not a man. He was a gift that God gave to humanity, but he was human. God is not human. Call him Yahweh, or Allah, or God, the Creator of the Universe is the Creator of the Universe. He is not human, not animal, is nothing worldly.
As it happens, I do read the Bible and also the Torah. Muslims believe in the Old and New Testaments as carrying God's message. But we believe the message was perfected in the Quran. When I open the Bible or the Torah, I look for the stories that are only hinted at in the Quran, to get a better idea of them. And we believe in many of the same prophets. Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Job, Jacob, John the Baptist, Noah, Zechariah, down the line to the last one, Mohammed (peace on them all).
Often people fear and hate what they don't understand. If you are prejudiced, narrow minded and hateful, you will never appreciate the good in people, and I'd be surprised if you get your salvation from God. It's those who practice tolerance, kindness, and goodwill towards others who have a better chance of being rewarded with Heaven and those are the ones who spread the right faith. I do deny that the Quran says to kill non-believers - says no such thing. It is said to defend yourself from any who attack (no need to turn the other cheek). The 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution also gives me the right to protect home and family from any who may try to persecute me.
There is one verse warning against friendship with Jews and Christians. I grew up with a lot of Jews and Christians (I'm a New Yorker) so this verse troubled me until I considered why would religious scripture tell me to choose friends from people preaching against the faith? Doesn't warn me against blacks, whites, asians, etc It is specifically the religious affiliation. Friends are people you trust and rely on, and God tells me in that verse that I can't trust and rely on a Jew or a Christian (who doesn't believe it) to help me spread His message. And spreading the message is the most important duty for a follower of a religion.
Interestingly, marriage is not forbidden (I have a catholic aunt, sikh cousin) There's historically a double standard though. Based on the patriarchal system, the religion of the father is given to the kids, so only men tend to marry out. Lately people are often less fundamental/religious and i have girl cousins married to christian guys. In every religion, there are those who follow rigidly, those who are moderate, and the very liberal. I consider myself moderate.
The one point where we disagree most strongly with each other, we will continue to disagree, Mr. Arthur. I refuse to allow any man divinity. You may consider the message bearers (peace be upon them) as varying from religion to religion. Go ahead, you have a right to your opinions. I think its ridiculous to say the men whose preaching has been clearly recorded (Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah, etc) are different from religion to religion. I don't think one Moses parted the ocean according to Jews, another Moses parted it for Christians, and a third did it for Muslims. I think it was the same guy, just like its the same Creator we worship. But Islam doesn't tell me to impose my view on you, I'm commanded to convey the message to you. It's up to you to see the logic in it. If you think it was three different Moses, and three different deities, then that's what you think. I did my duty by telling you otherwise. I've spent my entire life in the US and I'm not afraid to speak my mind. My father and brother are devout Muslims who have never abused me or restricted my freedom. They do not beat me or my mother and they do not practice polygamy. There is a historical reason why the Prophet (pbuh) had multiple wives; it was to protect them because so many men had been killed in wars. There are still some Muslims (and Christian Mormons in western US) who practice polygamy but they are minorities.
Any man who abuses women, and they exist in every culture, is scum and should be punished. There is no verse in the Quran that condones abuse of women. The verse you may be trying to give a false interpretation for is
Quran 4.34: "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their, beds (and last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance): for Allah is Most High, Great (above you all)."
According to this verse, first the request is verbal, then a refusal to sleep together, and lastly a light spanking. If the husband is an abusive jerk (most Muslim men don't drink but can still be abusive jerks), his wife has the right to divorce him in Islam.
I've never lived in a muslim majority country but I practice Islam. Don't confuse my religion with the cultural norms of those countries. My nationality is American and my religion is Islam. Italian Christians and American Christians do not share practices or opinions. I will probably be able to talk more easily with an American Jew than a Saudi Muslim. I grew up with american jews (we have a lot in NY). But I don't speak Arabic and I've never been to the mideast, so I probably won't know how to talk to people there. Their cultural norms might be different. I've talked to international people and they say we are so friendly and open with strangers, we appear odd and nosy to them. Someone actually said to me once, "why don't you americans mind your own business?" I replied, "if you did a good job with your business, we wouldn't have to mind it. You're mad at us when we don't interfere and mad at us when we do."
Lately though, I think they'd be happier if we didn't do much interfering. The cost of the wars is too much at home and we're not winning overseas. Every time the drones kill another terrorist and his family, their sons, brothers, cousins, etc take up arms, making it a bigger mess. My cousin Omar is in the US army. He's muslim but his wife Katie is christian, from Alabama. They have a 10 month old daughter, Jasmine. She deserves to grow up with her dad around.
After you read the holy book, discuss it with people who practice the faith instead of apostates and haters. Find out what real Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc believe instead of what people claim they believe. It is the fastest growing religion because people either choose to convert to it or make a lot of babies.
Terrorists are a small but harmful minority and they kill mainstream muslims as easily as they kill mainstream non-muslims. So far, the Afghanistan war has cost at least 10,000 civilian deaths, over three times the amount of innocent people who were killed in the US. Is it okay if a few thousand innocents die so we can liberate the rest from the terrorists? That was the general idea, but it's not working well overseas. Let me first clearify couple of misunderstanding or perverted understanding as I would love to call.
First , US is not a christian Nation
Neither all whites are Christians.
Going to church, getting a christian, and following certain christian doctrine name does not make a person "christian".
Also US has a very perverted understanding of "freedom".
Let me tell you wether you choose to Love or choose to Hate and express it could be considered as the freedom of expression.
The opposite of Freedom is Law and Order. Because Law is binding and it binds people to do what the Law says and not how they feel. Law and order is brought into existance and enforced for the Lawless people. For the sake of freedom of expression one cannot just do what he /she wants but they need to follow the rule of the Law.
Then the question is how to set a rule of the law and define it appropiately. Or is the law that is defined and enforced is perverted.
Take the example of perverted law which is now a days created, ie the same sex mariage- which is against the very nature of Science, Social Norms and the law of God. Against Science because man and woman are the beings with different sexes so that they can copulate and reproduce and multiply. The union between a man and a woman is the natural process were as the union between the same sex is perversion and against the nature. Similarly there is a social norm in the family and then there is the law established by God, (over here Yahovah or God the Father or Jesus Christ- because there is no other God besides Him and no other name besides the Name of Jesus)
The Cahtolic Church or some denominational churches are not the voice of God, neither they reflect or translate the Law or Ordinances of God to mankind because they are perverted.
Religions are the creation of men to satisfy the deep desire and hunger for God who is the creator of the Earth and the Universe and the Mankind. Because of their blindness and corruption of their hearts they have defined God in their own way and have chosen their own paths to reach the very same One God whom they do not know, neither they can see or reach Him.
Jesus Christ never came to create a religion or a christian religion or a religion of Love etc.. Religion (including the catholic religion) is the biggest deception ever created to decieve and turn people away from God and to lead them into a false hope of salvation or the way of God.
Jesus Christ is the Word of God Personified, or God became a Man. Why? To Save the world from SIN. Why to Save? Because man had fallen in SIN in the sight of God.
Why God is interested in the Lost World or the Sinful Man? Because God is Love and He does not want anybody to be destroyed forever.
Why God chose to became a Man and save the world and not just save it anyway maybe by one global and spectacular miracle or sign?
It is because God is a Just and Righteous God. He does not violate His Laws. A Man can be redeemed by the price paid by another Man. God had to become Man inorder to pay the price for the SIN of mankind. And He (Jesus) paid the price as a Man (flesh and blood) and not as God.
Why God did not use any other seed of Man to same the mankind? Because All Men are sinners. Every man who is born of a man is born with the seed of SIN and hence every man is a born sinner. And a SINNER cannot save himself leave alone the world. Only a SINLESS Man can redeem the mankind.
Then was JESUS SINLESS?
Jesus was born of the Spirit of God and not of any seed of man. (If your study science, the seed is only given by the male and not female. Females are only the carrier of the seed to develop and nuture and deliver it. Though without women nobody can be reproduced, it is the male that puts the seed inside the womans womb for the birth of life. That is the reason a virgin was concieved by the Spirit of God, ie the seed of God was planted into a virgin called Mary. (Mary was not the mother of God). She was just the carrier chosen by God to carry the seed of God till it is born in Flesh. And that is the reason Mary is not Divine. God is not like a Man with Flesh and blood, neither He has a Wife or a Female God to reproduce. Sex is the Creation of God in makind and animal kingdom. It is the Law or the Technology created by God for the process of reproduction. God is The Spirit and God is The WORD. And God created every thing by the WORD. Also the same WORD became flesh in Mary's womb which we later saw as Jesus Christ a complete Man and a complete God.
Now this is a little bit of technology and law which God used to redeem the mankind.
So blaming any religion and hating people who are blinded and follow them is not the answer. The answer is the Opening of the eyes of these people so that they see the truth. Once truth is revealed, no need to convince them, they will know it and they will KNOW GOD.
As far as dealing with the Terrorism or killings by any religion or groups is a national Law and Order problem and it should be dealt within the Law of the Land.
Lets not spread Hate even for the people who believe in Islam or any other religion BECAUSE JESUS DIED FOR THEIR SIN AS WELL, AND THEY ARE ENTITLED FOR SALVATION IF THEY BELIEVE IN JESUS AND HIS DEATH FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THEIR SIN.

Why would anybody want to burn other religion's holy book, why would I want to burn the Holy Bible, what good would that make for me?
It is really absurd new fad that will fade away and forgotten with time, though the dove thing church will financially benefit from it.
One of the most valuable lessons I learnt was to think in a critical manner, and to analyse critically. I wasn't taught that by an Arab dude with a big beard, the guy who taught me that was my religious studies teacher and he was an agnostic English man.
One of the things he said once that really struck a chord with me was, "one of the reasons there is so much hate in this world is because we do not give other people a chance to explain, or we do not go the extra step to understand what the other person is saying. Instead due to our I am right, therefore you must be wrong nature, overlook that and end up building negative ideas and thoughts".
So true. For this Church which has made 10 reasons to burn the Qur'an I laugh at the irony. Have any of them actually read the Qur'an? A lot of their reasons are made up allegations. The West which they are trying to defend taught me to find out both sides of the argument and then form an opinion. Not to base my opinions on hear say. =/.
Oh and one last thing, I am willing to admit that the actions of some MUSLIMS go against basic decency. Yes in some Muslim cultures women are oppressed, yes in some Muslim countries non-Muslims are not given the rights they well and truly deserve, and yes some Muslims think by killing people they can win hearts. Nay, that is not Islam. My advice to you would be to never make the mistake of judging a religion by the actions of some of it's followers but go to the original source, their Book, their founder / Prophet and then you will see what that religion means.
If it is in the name of freedom that some people think they can 'offend' / 'abuse' people of other races, faiths and background, then that freedom isn't freedom. Freedom has responsibility attached with it. Otherwise you might as well live in the jungle as cannibals!

The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred, whether a person is Muslim or not. Islam also protects honor. Racism is not allowed in Islam, for the Quran speaks of human equality in the following terms:

One of the major problems facing mankind today is racism. The developed world can send a man to the moon but cannot stop man from hating and fighting his fellow man. The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah shows the real Islamic brotherhood of all races and nations, when about two million Muslims from all over the world come to Makkah to perform the pilgrimage.
Islam is a religion of justice. God has said:
Truly God commands you to give back trusts to those to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice.... (Quran, 4:58)
And He has said:
...And act justly. Truly, God loves those who are just. (Quran, 49:9)
We should even be just with those who we hate, as God has said:
...And let not the hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety.... (Quran, 5:8)
The Prophet Muhammad said: {People, beware of injustice,5 for injustice shall be darkness on the Day of Judgment.}6
And those who have not gotten their rights (i.e. what they have a just claim to) in this life will receive them on the Day of Judgment, as the Prophet said: {On the Day of Judgment, rights will be given to those to whom they are due (and wrongs will be redressed)...}7

Terry Jones is fearful. People who are unkind toward other religions are fearful. It turns into hate and spins out of control. Don't let it.
Those who fault "some members" of a religion for the words of others are fearful because they don't understand. Terry Jones is wrong because he's doing something called "fear mongering" (also "hate mongering"). It's true that he probably wants money out of all this, or he's just a nutso. So quit giving him so much attention and credit!
Some education: Christianity is not about hating others (AT ALL). Just like Islam isn't about hating others (but there are sects who are terrorists/kill people/etc - just like there are a zillion examples of christian sects who are complete idiots). Religion has been around since the beginning of time - and people have done all sorts of great and horrible things in the name of religion. It's nothing new.
The person who wrote: "You should hate Christians and all other religions" is a perfect example of someone who is very fearful. Guaranteed.
Religion is about completing your life. If you feel complete without it - then that's your choice. And you have a choice. But what are you trying to prove by continuing a horrible cycle of hate? For a religious person, that points directly toward your need for religion. Sorry to disappoint you. ... But again, the choice is very much yours. Any one who tells you otherwise is unfortunately - Misguided.
Search your soul Everyone- dig deep. YOU are a smart person. There are many scared, confused, uneducated, unwilling "People". Fear into a group breeds Group Fear.
