On Monday, TV20 brought you the story when deputies responded to Pizza Italia located at 11 NE 58th Avenue in Ocala, in reference to an armed robbery. The clerk, Garrett Brown, reported he had been robbed at knife point and cut by the suspect before he fled the scene out the back door.
Brown's storyturned out to be a ruse, however.

Brown, a Department of Corrections inmate on work release, was treated at Munroe Regional Medical Center for his injuries where he was required to participate in a drug test. After the results came back positive for cocaine, Brown was arrested and taken to Marion Correctional Institute, when an investigation revealed Brown had been stealing money from the pizza restaurant to pay for a drug habit and then falsely reporting a robbery to cover up the missing money.

Brown was charged with filing a false police report and petit theft.
