City officials spoke at the board of county commissioners meeting Tuesday. Both sides express they could agree on all the other terms of the contract, except for the base compensation amount.
The county wants to pay 123,000 dollars per year, like every other municipality. High Springs wants to be paid 133,000 dollars.
Officials did agree on the 335 dollars per fire call to the city of Alachua and a 30 day extension. City officials will go over the new terms and meet with the county again in November.
