A Central Florida Judge denied bond to a man charged with killing one person and wounding five others at his former workplace in an Orlando high-rise on Friday.
Officers say 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez blames the engineering firm for recent trouble he had for receiving unemployment benefits.
Police identified the worker who was killed as 26-year-old Otis Beckford. The five wounded people are in stable condition at Orlando hospitals and are expected to survive.
Rodriguez's mother expressed her condolences to everyone involved.
"I'm so sorry for everything that has happened; sorry for the families involved, and for my own son," said Ana Lopez-Rodriguez.
Jason Rodriguez is being held in the Orange County Jail.
