Tornadoes occur year round but are more likely during the winter months. You won't hear tornado sirens to warn you of a tornado. Most counties in Florida don't have sirens. But Alachua County Emergency Management says the best way to protect yourself is to have a weather radio. The radio can warn you when you are asleep and can't watch TV20 for the latest updates.
