Police are searching for a University of Florida football player wanted on five felony charges after he allegedly choked his girlfriend.

UF Senior Cornerback Wondy Pierre-Louis is accused of kicking in the door to his girlfriend's apartment early Sunday morning and becoming enraged after he saw her in bed with another man, police said in a sworn complaint filed on Sunday.

Police said the football player then trapped the woman in her bathroom and began to choke her saying, "I could kill you." When she tried to run away and call police, he pushed her on to her bed, took off his shirt and began to strangle her, police said.

Pierre-Louis' girlfriend was able to run away and had a neighbor call 911.

"This is a case that could have been easily much worse for our victim," Lt. Keith Kameg said. "She was able to do everything right, get away, protect herself and I'm happy to report she sustained no serious injuries."

Anyone with information about Pierre Louis' whereabouts is asked to call the Gainesville Police Department.
