Former Gator football player Wondy Pierre Louis turned himself into Gainesville police Tuesday morning just after 2, and made his first appearance in court just after 9 am.
He's facing charges of kidnapping, domestic battery by strangulation, battery, unarmed burglary, and obstructing justice by tampering.
He's accused of entering his girlfriend's apartment on Sunday and getting angry after finding her with another man.
Police say Pierre-Louis tried to strangle her, but she ran away and had a neighbor call police.
Yesterday in court, his girlfriend said police got it all wrong and that Pierre-Louis isn't dangerous and that some of the documented information didn't actually happen.
Pierre-Louis' bond was reduced from $185,000 to $40,000 and he has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Officials at the Alachua County jail said he posted the $40,000 bail early Wednesday morning.
