One group says the Levy County Sheriff's Office is guilty of discrimination, and they say it's nothing new.

Area NAACP President Al J. Carnegie, Sr. says he isn't surprised at the punishment that was handed to Levy County Deputy Chuck Johnson. He says it was outrageously light because the deputy's dad, Colonel Mike Johnson, is second in command at the sheriff's office.

Tuesday, TV20 reported that several charges were substantiated against Deputy Johnson, including using a racial slur, shocking his pet dog with his department-issued taser, and having an affair with a married woman. While Deputy Johnson was given a 30 day suspension, he was allowed to keep his job.

Carnegie says the NAACP plans on making an official decision on what action the they'll take in response to the incident at a public meeting in Bronson Thursday night.
