Controversial Colonel Steps Down

It's more trouble for the Levy County Sheriff's Office, and one of the leading families in the department.

TV20 has reported extensively on the punishment handed to the son of the second in command at the department that many thought was just a slap on the wrist. Now, another member of the family is in the spotlight.

TV20's Josh Rosenthal digs deeper into an investigation that raises even more questions about preferential treatment.

Thanks Josh for your thorough investigation into this blatant misuse of power. It's unfortunate that these incidents went on as long as they did, but with the announced retirement of Col. Johnson perhaps the Levy County Sheriff's Office employees and the citizens of the county can move past this blemish on law enforcement and the profession as a whole.

Josh, I wish you knew the people personally before you trash them. I have known the Johnson Family for 25 years. Mike Johnson is an honest man. He is a Father too. Did Chuck Johnson really do anything that bad to have all this controversy? Please! You have destroyed a Good Family by hear say. Mike has always been a fair, honest man. I do not work at Levy Cty Jail. I know him as a real person. Who ever started all this mess is not getting what they want...promotion or what ever. He could had retired along time ago, he liked his job. Just like you like yours (I guess) you are responsible for destroying a good mans reputation." Whoever digs a pit will fall into it.
